Bring LastPass home with Families as a Benefit

Now that you’ve learned all about password security in the workplace, why not take it home with you? If you already have a personal LastPass account - congrats! You’re ahead of the game. But as a Business account holder, you are eligible for an upgrade to LastPass Families, through LastPass Families as a Benefit – a perk that your company provides all LastPass Business account holders. If you don’t have a personal account, no problem! You can create a Families account, too!

Here’s how it works!

Log in to your LastPass Business Account. On the left-hand menu, you should see “Account Benefits” next to a present/gift icon. Click this tab and simply follow the instructions on the pop-out guide. Once you type in your personal account, LastPass will register if you are a previous account holder and adapt the instructions specific to your status. New customers, Premium customers, and Families customers are all eligible for LastPass Families as a Benefit.

Once you’ve created your Families account, you are officially the Family Manager and can invite up to 5 additional individuals closest to you! However you define family, we’ve got you covered.

Within the same “Account Benefits” tab, you can link and unlink your personal account to your work account. We recommend linking accounts as they can:

  1. Keep your vault organized yet separate and private. You may want to add personal sites to your LastPass vault, but your Facebook password doesn’t belong in your Business account. (Your LastPass Administrator doesn't want it in your work vault, either.)
  2. Once your accounts are linked, you can seamlessly access your personal LastPass items while logged in to your Business account and vice versa. This never provides your company access to your personal account or any of your family member’s accounts, nor can your family members access your business account vault. Never. Did we say Never?
  3. If your Business account is ever deactivated, you’ll have the option to purchase your Families account or move to LastPass Free. Should you move to LastPass Free, your family members will too. None of you will lose any of the sensitive data or credentials stored in your vault.
